Show and Tell Friday
Hello, Friends!
Thank you for stopping by to see my Show and Tell today, as usual this is hosted by Kelli, at There Is No Place Like Home. If you have been here before then you know that I love sharing some of the things I have recently been sent of my mother's or my grandmother's. Today, I want to show you my grandmother, Mimie's, jewelry box (above). Mimie was not a wealthy person and by the time she died she was greatly reduced in her circumstances, so nothing she owned was very expensive, but her jewelry is still pretty and fun to look at.
Little poinsettia earings...One needs to be glued. See the screw backs? That was very common for earrings up through the 40's and 50's.
Some fancier ones, probably for church or evenings...
Pretty faux diamond pin and matching earrings - these are clip-ons...
Another pin and earring set.
I never knew Mimie. She died the year before I was born. However, I am told that I look like her. Sometimes, I wear Mimie's jewelry to church. I feel close to her when I do.
Have a lovely day!
Elizabeth

Your Grandmothers vintage jewerly is so wonderful. You are lucky to have them tp treasure.
As soon as I saw your picture I said "ooooo!". I love all her pieces and I have to just say how wonderful I think it is that you have these to cherish. Have you seen pictures of her? Do you think you look like her? My eldest son is the spitting image of my hubbs father who passed in 1989 and my youngest girl looks very much like a sister that passed away before I was born. Isn't it interesting how "genes" work?
I so enjoyed seeing your grandmother's jewelry. I would love to have a piece of jewelry that belonged to either of my grandmothers! I know you will always treasure these things.
Blessings,
Elaine
You've got some pieces that are priceless...but if you'd know...I love antiques and these are fetching big bucks at antique stores now-a-days. Of course, don't sell them...they're heirlooms. And great pieces.
My Show n Tell is being BLUE today...come on over if you can. I'd love your company.
How nice you have her jewelry. It is so sweet.
Those are sweet vintage pieces--and so special that they are heirlooms!
I just love the vintage jewelry! I love to collect it. I do not have family treasures as you. So wonderful.
That reminds me of my grandmother's jewelry.
Something is waiting for you at my blog!
How precious to have her jewelry. I know you cherish those pieces even if they are no so valuable money wise. I also have a few pieces from my grandma.
I have a pair of earrings just like your poinsetta ones. It is so nice that you are keeping her jewelry.
It is sweet that you wear her jewelry. It is all very lovely.
Family heirlooms are always priceless treasures, regardless of the monetary value placed on them...your grandmother's jewelry is lovely, and its so wonderful that you can now love it as much as she did. :-)
What treasures! Love the box too. Thank you for sharing today:)
Such sweet pieces of jewelry. They are just beautiful!
