Grapefruit Bird Feeder

Okay, so I saw this cute grapefruit bird feeder online and have decided to give it a try, especially because Costco has HUGE grapefruits for sale.  We have been going through those like crazy because they are delicious!  So, I have saved 4 halves...
..scraped them out, poke equi-distant holes, strung them up and filled with sunflower seeds and birdseeds.

How is that for a nifty, thrifty new feeder?

Have you used any unique or interesting objects for bird feeders?  If so, please share!

What I Did Today said...

Such a cute idea. Reminds of me of when I was younger when we decided to decorate a tree for the birds at Christmastime. We spread pinecones with peanut butter and rolled them in birdseed. We strung popcorn on string. I can't remember what else we did, but it was very cool.
